Carol Ann and Chase met in the beautiful mountainsides of Colorado while studying cello and piano performance at the University of Northern Colorado. While traveling, they were charmed by the vineyards of northern California and found a new home in Lodi after graduating.

Strings Attached was naturally formed through their love of music and composition. This extraordinary piano and cello duet play classical, pop, and jazz re-imagined in both original compositions and classics. Chase and Carol Ann interact with the audience through charming performance and educational story-telling. Their music often features a modern sound with the use of sampled beats and looped electric cello.

Originally from the Colorado Rockies, Chase had been exploring music from an early age.  He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado, majoring in solo performance. He continues a performance career as a solo and collaborative pianist.

After moving to Lodi, Chase has been a collaborative pianist at the University of the Pacific and the San Joaquin Delta College School of Music. He currently instructs piano and digital music composition at the B Sharp school of Music.

Chase has a dual career in music production and composition. His compositions include music education projects such as Musical Math for Kids™ and television shorts like Sig 'n Hill. You can find samples of his compositions at his website

In addition to music, Chase also enjoys horseback riding, swing dancing, and snowboarding.

An Arizona native, Carol Ann performed with the Arizona Opera, the Phoenix Metropolitan Opera, and the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra. In 2010 she moved to Colorado to pursue a Master’s Degree in Cello Performance. She was Co-Principal of the University of Northern Colorado’s Symphony Orchestra, a soloist with the university’s Concert Choir, and was the winner of the 2012 Southard Competition-Chamber Music Division.

Carol Ann currently records as a studio musician for collaborative projects. She has recently recorded for short films, commercials, and has been featured as a solo guest cellist. She has also performed with the Stockton Symphony.

In addition to cello performance, Carol Ann has had a dual career in education and pedagogy. She loves sharing her passion for music with students of all ages and levels. She is currently an instructor at the B Sharp School of Music in downtown Lodi.

Carol Ann also enjoys photography and engageing in her local community by hosting events at her downtown Lodi venue, The Middle C.
